POSITIONS ARE IN REMOTE AND/OR ISOLATED COMMUNITIES
Allowances: Public Health positions may be eligible for the following allowances: Education Allowance ($605 - 3,850), Recruitment Allowance ($6,750 upon signing $9,750 after 12 months)*, Retention Allowance ($16,500)*, and Isolated Post Allowance ($4,299 to $23,126 (w/o dependents)).
*(Recruitment allowance for registered nurses (RNs) will be paid in 2 installments ($6750 in the first month of hire and $9,750 after 12 months for a total of $16,500. For part-time employees, the amounts are prorated.)

* Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
Job Description:
Primary care nurses deliver comprehensive healthcare services in First Nations Communities. They are responsible for:
- wellness: well-baby, well-woman, well-man
- public health screening
- immunization and infection prevention
- health teaching and promotion
- communicable disease screening
- sexual health
We are recruiting experienced nurses to fill various positions available in remote and/or isolated First Nations communities in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and Quebec
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) with various linguistic profiles and/or requirements as well as tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) and/or security clearance (reliability or secret), which may vary according to the position being staffed.

- Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse in a province or territory of Canada.
Essential Experience
Recent* and Significant** experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) providing community health or primary care nursing services in one or more of the following areas:
- Health Promotion / Disease Prevention
- Communicable Disease Control
- Population Health Assessment
- Emergency Preparedness, Surveillance and Response
Recent* is defined as within the last three years
Significant** is defined as at least one year of experience with the candidate performing complex activities related to this task
