Who you are
You have a worked as an Anesthesiologist for a minimum of 1 year, with experience working in a similar role.
You possess a Medical Degree from a recognized medical school and postgraduate studies (residency) in the field of Anesthesiology.
You possess a valid license to practice medicine in New Brunswick through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (CPSNB), and Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level. Bilingual skills would be considered an asset.
What you will do
Reporting to the Anesthesiology Department Head and the Medical Director for the area, the Anesthesiologist collaborates with other Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered, Nurses, and other Allied Medical Staff to provide:
- Anesthesiology services in the operating room as required.
- Ambulatory care in a clinic setting.
- Inpatient care including rounds on patients.
- Consultations to hospital-based patients as requested by attending staff.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as defined by your department.
- Participate in the use of departmental and corporate evidence-based rules of practice to ensure that expected standards of care are achieved.
- Maintain all patient records in the office and the hospital current and in accordance with the Horizon Health Network bylaws, medical staff rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in medical practice that is compatible with the Health Authority’s mission, values, and strategic directions.
- Other duties that may arise by circumstance and may be assigned by the Department of Anesthesiology.
