Location: South West Acute Hospital (SWAH)

Hours: 30 hpw (Flexible with option of reduced or part time hours)

 

Role Purpose

The post holder will support the provision of a high quality, stepped care psychology service within the Occupational Health and Wellbeing department, and more broadly support the commitment within WHSCT to promote, support and, where challenged, restore psychological wellbeing of employees.

The post holder will provide CBT intervention to those service users with psychological and emotional problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. The post holder will be expected to complete psychological assessments, facilitate 1:1 intervention and facilitate evidence based group activity with the service users.

The post holder will work in collaboration with colleagues from Occupational Health Team. They will advise colleagues within the Occupational Health Team on clients' psychological care connected to work-related matters.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical

  • Manage a defined caseload in the specialty of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with clients who have a range of psychological and emotional problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.
  • Assess, formulate, implement and evaluate appropriate intervention programmes for suitable clients. Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process.
  • Develop and provide a quality CBT service to clients in accordance with local and national guidelines and standards of practice.
  • Act in a consultative/advisory capacity to other occupational health colleagues on matters relating to Mental Health / Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
  • Attend multi-professional meetings and provide reports when required.
  • Compile and maintain case notes which reflect application of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and to provide clear and accurate clinical correspondence to referring agents and relevant others.
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary colleagues to ensure a comprehensive package of care is delivered.
