Job Summary
The post holder will assist the Project Manager on the implementation/transition of the
electronic roster system to a cohort of staff within a robust project management structure to deliver on the objectives agreed with the Project Steering Group.
The post holder will be responsible for the transition to the new rostering system, management of the e-rostering project resource team and the development of a project plan to guide the implementation of the system to the identified range of staff groups and users.
The engagement of stakeholders is fundamental to develop creative solutions to rostering that will provide effective staffing solutions to support the delivery of safe and effective care to patients and clients, and to achieve the most efficient deployment of the staffing resource available to the participating departments and teams.
The post requires knowledge of the functionality of the rostering system, interaction with senior management in the Trust, other HSC organisations, and with external organisations (such as system suppliers).
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- To develop a high level of expertise in the functionality of the E-Rostering System to enable them fulfil the core responsibilities of this role
- To work in partnership with Heads of Department and Senior Managers to analyse current rostering practice and present possible solutions – in keeping with the capacity of the new rostering system
- To challenge current rostering practice to enable a more streamlined range of shifts transferring to the rostering system
- To develop systems to capture changes to staffing profiles within the user wards and departments to ensure that staff changes are reflected to enable the Roster Managers include all current staff in the rosters
- To develop systems to identify errors in the system functionality and work to achieve resolutions to faults at Trust level with third parties when necessary
- To lead in the development, quality assurance, testing and implementation of new software or software enhancements for rostering ensuring that information is communicated to the appropriate staff across the Trust
- To ensure the integrity and quality of the information held within system files and databases especially in relation to the upgrading and development of software
- To manage and support the exchange of information across system interfaces
- To act as the Trust representative at regional forums established to develop technical specifications for the ongoing development of rostering solutions for the HSC
- To work in partnership with colleagues from ICT, Human Resources, Finance and Payroll Shared Services to develop technical solutions to enable the exchange of data between the rostering systems and other HR systems as required
