Contract and hours: To establish a waiting list for any permanent, temporary, full-time, part-time positions that may arise over the next 12 months throughout the Western Trust area
Job summary
The post-holder will work as a member of the nursing team, carrying out direct care and clinical tasks for which they will have been deemed competent. The post holder will support the Registered Nurse and Care Team and will work under their delegated authority.
Main responsibilities
- Assist qualified nursing staff in the delivery of high quality nursing care and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Undertake clinical duties with patients in a manner that maintains their safety, comfort and dignity at all times
- Carry out assigned duties and clinical tasks under the direction of a qualified nurse in such a way as to ensure that nursing care is of a high standard.
- Support patients during and after activities.
- Carry out investigative and diagnostic procedures as delegated by the qualified nursing staff and other members of the care team.
- Observe and report any changes in patients’ condition and behaviour to the nurse in charge.
- Maintain clear and accurate records in all aspects of the role
- Reflect on practice, learn from it and attend in-service training programmes as required.
