The Registered Nurse (RN) OR/ /RR/Day Surgery/CSR is a member of the surgical team that focuses on identifying and meeting the individual needs of the surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience. Working in collaboration with the health care team, the Registered Nurse OR/ RR/Day Surgery/ CSR uses basic and expanded nursing knowledge to address the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual responses of the patient of the surgical event, with the objective of maintaining or regaining optimal patient health.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a Degree or Diploma in Nursing and minimum two years of recent acute care experience with one year recent experience within an Operating Room setting. College and Association of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (CANNN) registration eligibility. Nurses with Post Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU) experience and/or Surgical Day Unit (SDU) experience would be considered an asset.

The Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Care, is responsible for assessing patient health status and responding to actual and potential health problems including emergent and critical situations on an ongoing basis during the provision of inpatient nursing care.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a Degree or Diploma in Nursing. College and Association of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (CANNN) registration eligibility. Critical care and/or obstetrical experience would be considered an asset.

The Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Department, is responsible for assessing patient health status and responding to actual and potential health problems including emergent and critical situations on an ongoing basis.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a Degree or Diploma in Nursing with  one (1) year of experience in Emergency Nursing, Critical Care Nursing or related experience College and Association of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (CANNN) registration eligibility.

This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. The ability to communicate in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
