Job summary
The Anderson House Sexual Health team are recruiting a Doctor to work with the multi-disciplinary team and provide appropriate care for individuals for routine and complex sexual health needs
The holder will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the clinic, whilst also, undertaking research, teaching and training students, nursing staff and trainee doctors. The job may also include involvement in the local Mpox service
Main responsibilities
- Join the multi-disciplinary team for Sexual Health (GU) services.
- Provide core sexual health service clinical duties.
- Provide PrEP services (HIV Prevention)
- Provide sexual health care and support for staff providing this care including
Management of general presenting symptoms such as pain/discharge
Management of asymptomatic and symptomatic Gonorrhoea/Chlamydia
Management of genital HSV & genital HPV
Management of Syphilis and complex syphilis alongside Consultant Colleagues
Management of genital dermatological conditions alongside Consultant colleagues
Performs HIV POCT testing
Perform onsite microscopy to aid rapid diagnosis
Onward referral of newly detected BBV’s if required
- Provide safeguarding support under senior colleagues and refer onward to senior colleagues
- Liaising with other medical practitioners when appropriate and onward referral to other specialists
