Key reposnsibilities

  • Conduct and analyze laboratory tests to diagnose diseases and monitor patient health.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Collect and prepare specimens for testing following standard procedures.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all laboratory findings.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to provide timely and effective patient care.
  • Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations, including maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Keeps up-to-date descriptive records of all quality control results in accordance with TCLSP Program Quality Control protocol; reports all out-of-control situations to Charge Technologist. Participates in Accreditation Canada assessment visits.
  • Accurately and precisely performs all required lab testing in a timely fashion as defined by the Timmins – Cluster Laboratory Partnership Quality Control Protocol and IQMH Guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the CMLTO or equivalent and willing to transfer license.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
  • Proficiency in both English and French is preferred.
