The post of Consultant in Emergency Medicine is at the heart of the medical workforce in the Emergency Department (ED) at the South West Acute Hospital.

Our goal is to provide safe, effective, high quality emergency care in a timely, cost-effective and sustainable manner.

We aim to provide our Consultants with an excellent work life balance in a welcoming rural community.

The on call frequency will be 1 in 8 with prospective cover.

All shifts are direct clinical care (7.5 DCC PAs), with the exception of supporting professional activity (2.5 SPA PAs). The latter may be taken flexibly dependent upon operational needs. Additional Programmed Activities (PAs) may be available by mutual agreement.
