Location:  Altnagelvin Area Hospital, Londonderry 

Directorate: Unscheduled Care, Medicine, Cancer & Clinical Services

Contract and hours: Temporary, Full Time (40hpw,  10PAs) A waiting list may be established for the next 12 months should another similar post arise

If permanent funding becomes available the successful candidate will be offered the post on a permanent basis.

Job summary

To support the existing Consultant dermatologist and specialties at the Altnagelvin Site. This will be a full time and fixed term post in the first instance (made permanent subject to mutual agreement)

Main responsibilities

The main focus of this post will be the clinical assessment and management of patients refereed with dermatology pathology.

  • The post holder will be a member of Directorate of Unscheduled Care. The post holder has access to its secretarial service and provision of a shared computer.
  • The post holder will participate in the teaching and training of medical students.
  • He/she will be expected to undertake continuing medical education (CME/CPD).
  • The post holder will participate in multi-professional audit, Quality Improvement and educational activities within the Unit and the Directorate.
  • The post holder may be required to deputise as far as is practicable for absent colleagues of the same or other grades not lower than the Specialty Doctor.
  • There are no over-night on-call commitments with this post, but this may be agreed additional to contract.
  • Any changes to the working arrangements will be by means of discussion and agreement (which should not unreasonably be withheld) with the post holder.
